La'Jasha Champion is a multidisciplinary artist that was born and raised in Texas. She received her BFA in New Media Art and Minor in Art History from the University of North Texas. Since graduating, she has traveled to Chicago, Il, Nashville, TN, Manhattan, NY, and Houston, TX and sold her mixed media paintings. She also teaches CTE Digital Media and CTE Commercial Photography at La Promesa in Houston, Texas.
Champion's artwork highlights the positivity, inspiration and joy around the Black experience. She is passionate about capturing paintings of individuals, either with her self portraits or inspirations of various Black individuals. She gravitates toward illustrating a positive narrative in her art and aims to encourage and educate her audience about the Black experience.
